Body of War: Songs that Inspired an Iraq War Veteran
On March 18 the soundtrack to the upcoming documentary Body of War will be available through Sire Records. This soundtrack is a double disc entitled Body of War: Songs that Inspired an Iraq War Veteran.
All the songs were selected by Iraq War veteran Tomas Young, and some of his picks include songs from Bright Eyes, Bruce Springsteen, Against Me!, and Neil Young. Also on the track list is a previously unreleased live version of "No More" by Eddie Vedder, which was written solely for the documentary. All proceeds on the disc will go to the Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW.org).
"The compilation record was an idea that grew out of my love of music and my reliance on it before, during, and after the war," says Tomas. "The songs I selected for the record were tracks that inspired, motivated, and at times, literally saved me over the past few years."
