As some of you may have heard by now, I have made a decision to leave Crush Luther. It has been a long and difficult decision for me to make, but I believe that it is a positive one for both me and the rest of the band. We have come to a point where tours are getting longer and the time needed to be invested in this is something I can no longer afford. I have my own commitments outside of this band to my family and my home, and I realized that I had reached an age where I had to seriously start considering what I really wanted to do with my future. Being a part of this band since its inception has been an incredible experience in my life and it has been very important to me, but it has never been my first and foremost priority. I believe that the rest of the guys in the band will be very well served to finally have a fully committed fifth member.
I would like to be very clear in the fact that this has nothing to do with any internal or personal problems with anyone in the band. Brent, Luther, Matt, Bo, Tim and Darrin have become great friends of mine over the years and are really more like family to me than anything else. I truly wish all of you guys the best of luck and I know you will go on to be very successful. I very much appreciate the opportunity that I have had to be a part of this – it is something I will never forget. Strange as it may be, I look forward to the day I can actually stand in the crowd and watch a Crush Luther show!
Finally, to all of our family, friends and fans who have ever attended one of our shows (or who have been at almost every show), I can't thank you enough for all the love and support you've shown us over the years. All the people who have come to the shows and watched, danced and sang along have really been the reason that I have done this for as long as I have. It is a wonderful feeling being able to play songs for people and see them really enjoying themselves and I am happy that because of all of you, I got that opportunity.
I will be finishing up a few last shows with the band over the coming weeks and after that, it will be time to say goodbye. It's been a great ride and the memories will be with me the rest of my life. Thanks.
