The U.S. National Junior Team won eight medals three gold, four silver and a bronze on the first night of competition Friday at the 2008 Victorian Championships in Melbourne, Australia. Leading the way for the Junior Team was Ashley Evans, who took first in the womens 1500m free in 16:39.19.

Even with all of his many years of coaching most from his mom, Leslie, at Mecklenburg Aquatic Club (MAC) in his hometown of Charlotte, N.C. Ricky Berens learned what might prove his most important lesson this summer in the finals of the 100 butterfly at the Pan American Games.

The Scholastic All-America Team applications have now been posted. For the 2007-2008 program year, a few changes have been implemented, including uniform time standards that an applicant must achieve to be considered for the program.

After Jeff Burrows swimmers won their dual meet against Kent Roosevelt High School Dec. 1, his team took him out to dinner. When the Golden Eagles got to the restaurant, more than 100 kids, parents and former swimmers took off their coats to reveal red t-shirts that read, GlenOak swimming and diving, 500 wins and still counting.
