RecCenter.com

Your network of friends.

Sometimes you pick your friends, sometimes they pick you. Either way, here at RecCenter you should feel right at home with how to manage your friendships.

Friendships are relationships that you have with other people on the site. They serve many purposes:

  • Staying connected with people you know with Messages & Bulletins
  • Discover new friendships by meeting friends of your friends
  • Follow your favorite bands and artists by becoming one of their friends
  • Sharing private content, such as Photos & Blogs, with just your friends

Adding a Friend

To add a friend, simply view their Profile, and click Add to Friends. You will be prompted for an optional Greeting Message to your friend. This will send a Friend Request to that person. An email will be sent to them notifying them of this request, where they will have the option of accepting or rejecting the request.

Your “Top” Friends

You can have as many friends as you can possibly stand. However, on your profile page, only a handful of friends are shown at one time. Your Top Friends are the friends that you know the best, or otherwise just want to display first.

You may rearrange the order of your friends in the Top Friends section from your manage friends section by a simple drag & drop procedure.

Privacy Controls

Sometimes you may wish to only allow your friends to find you or maybe you want all of RecCenter to see your profile. Which ever you choose, RecCenter makes it easy to control this through the privacy settings. There you can set your friendship acceptance policy or your profile privacy.

By default, if you are under the age of 18, your profile is automatically set to private. To change this, please set it in the privacy section.
