Getting Started

So you've gotten through the sign up process and now you are ready to meet friends or fans and share what you know about music. The following should help you out with just that.

Your Dashboard

When you first log in, you will be presented with what we call your dashboard. It is your quick overview of what you may be missing on your profile and also what your friends are up to.

Profile Badges

These badges show you what your profile may be missing. From photos, blogs, customization, and music, they will let you know what you can do to help fill out your profile.

Friend Blogs and Bulletins

Want to know what is going on with your friends? Look no further than your dashboard. It will list the latest blogs and bulletins posted by your friends. You can also post a bulletin or blog straight from that list.

Friends Shows and Events

Are you friends with a bunch of artists and wondering where they will be next? Get a quick glance at what shows they have coming up.

Personalize

There are many different elements you can personalize on your profile. Take your pick. Fill one up or all of them. Whichever way you choose, have fun with it.

Basic Info

This is what makes you. Fill out this information to tell people certain things about yourself or your band. If you don't fill them out, they won't show up on your profile. That simple.

RecArea

This is your "board" area. Feel free to put anything you want in it from text to YouTube Videos that you find amusing. Display any image banners promoting your favorite band or a new album debut.

Your Bio

Acting just like your RecArea, but this is where you tell your friends or fans about who you are.

Profile Tags

These items are the way for you to let people know what you like or dislike. They are tags that can also link you to other people who like the same things. We have provided you with default "tastes" to fill in. Want something different? Create a new "taste" and fill it out.

Uploading Photos

Is your profile missing your bright shining face? Upload it and many other photos using our easy to use upload tools. After its uploaded you can rename it, crop it and add tags. Organize the photos you have uploaded by rearranging them with a simple drag & drop.

Profile Tags / Keywords

By way of tags and keywords, RecCenter connects you to other items that are tagged with the same word or phrase. Any time you upload or post an item, you have the option to add tags to them. Clicking on them will take you to the search page where other items similarly tagged will show.

Customize Profile

Making your profile stand out from the rest is simple. You have multiple options to customize it's look and feel. For a more in-depth look at how to customize your profile, please check out the customization page.

Basic Customization

This option allows for you to change the colors of the different elements on your profile pages. Clicking on the swatch pops up the color picker or if you know the hexadecimal code for a specific color, enter it in the provided text box.

Profile Configuration

Use this tool to to rearrange your different modules on your page by a simple drag & drop. Want to change items that show up in the block? Click on edit block to do just that.

Advanced Customization

If you know basic HTML and CSS then this option is for you. Using prefabbed template code and your own CSS you can include your own imagery to fill your profile. For more information, please see our advanced customization page.
