I'm just about to head out on a UK tour with Paul Weller on Friday. Three days back home has been nice. Remembered that I can still cook ...pasta.
The last three dates of the tour I just finished in Spain were really great fun and stunning countryside. I walked around lost in Barcelona for hours trying to find the venue. The gig was in a cool smelly rock bar on the plaza off of Rhamblas called Sidecart.
We then played a night in Bilboa 6 hours up the road. Its a stunning town in the rolling green hills of north Spain. Basque country. The gig rocked so much . What great folk they are in Bilboa. An after party at the venue which had turned into a disco of 1500 people proved to be the best night out on the tour.
We stumbled into the van the next morning to head to coastal town Gicon to do our final show. After some great tortilla the gig rocked and we had a great last song together Jason Isbell the band and I. After the gig I tried to speak Spanish and learn a little about the town, but communication barriers led to simpler exchanges .. that of trying local cocktails and laughing at the fact we couldn't communicate .. Oh modern man... Sadly Today I read about the food crisis.. Its a hard one .. When people are so poor this food price rise has made it impossible to feed themselves.. Yet we use the food for fuel.. good articles on it at BBC news...
See you out with Paul Weller and bring on the summer
