My daughter Michaela has been a My Chem. fan for almost two years. When Michaela first told me about MCR all I heard was punk band. When I first listened to their music, my thoughts were here is another death obsessed punk band. One more demon to fight in my daughter's life. Recently I have had cause to change my mind. On a snowy afternoon after a recent move to Kansas City, in a moment of weakness I said, " lets watch My Chem's DVD 'Life on the Murder Scene' ". After watching the video disc, to my surprise I was not traumatized and after the documentary disc I was intrigued. What I saw was a group of friends that showed courage, strength, respect, a total belief in one another and a genuine love for each other but for their fans as well. Not only are the guys incredibly talented, they have good souls, their hearts are pure. After reading several articles about My Chem., I realized they are mental misfits that are great role models with a positive message. My Chem are the good guys. In some way they touch the hearts of all their fans because it is important to do so. They give without expecting anything in return. While a kind word is better then a big pie,I owe My Chem a big Pie for the negative thoughts I sent their way. I am now a huge supporter of My Chem. I have told Michaela that if you play K.C. she can go. To sweeten the deal if she ends the school year with all A's and My Chem's Halloween concert is state-side there will tickets for that as well.
