Where to begin? What’s up guys? This is Enoma Otenki here and I just wanted to give you guys an idea of the amazing weekend we had in Austin, TX. We decided last year that we weren’t going to let SXSW pass us by. We had an opportunty to do it last year but things didn’t work out. Anyway sinice we have a new record coming soon, it made sense to head down there to start promoting.

So we headed out to Austin, with our good friends Terrence and Michelle. Thursday night was pretty tame. Since we had all worked that day (yeah, we have day jobs haha) we thought it was in our best interest to just get rest because the remainder of the weekend was going to be insane. And it’s a good thing we took that time to rest....

Friday morning we got up and headed out to the streets. Normally things at SXSW don’t really get on and poppin’ till later in the day but we the first thing we did was head down 6th street to see what’s going on. One of the first bands we run into are our boys Thee Armada. We chat it up with them and their label owner Alex for a little bit before flyering the crap out of the festival. We came armed to the teeth with flyers, business cards and sampler cds.

After a few hours of flyering we headed over to the Purevolume Ranch where our dudebros Meriwether were going to be playing. Once we get there we unfortunately we find out that the venue is for the grown and sexy only...aka 21+. It was a total bummer because our friends Nomi (long time supporter) and Michelle wouldn’t be able to come in. The girls said it was ok and we went inside to hang out. We ended up meeting some awesome people. I won’t give out names but a great guy who happens to tour manage Gym Class Heroes became fast friends with us. Turns out he knows one of our BFFs from Houston. Anyway another plus to the Ranch was the free beer/liquor and other beverages they were offering. After a few drinks our boys Meriwether got to the venue and wrecked shop. Everyone Please Support them. Here are a few pics.

The boys from LA killed it and from there we decided it was time to head home and rest up for the festivities that took place that night. When we hit the scene that night we ran into Story of the Year doing some interviews. We talked to them for a little bit and we all dispersed to see other shows. Unforunately I wasn’t feeling well and I headed home with Nomi. But some of the adventures I was told concerning that night are best left unsaid. Haha we’re kinda trouble makers.

But Saturday was amazing because we decided to head out early because the AP Tour was doing an huge showcase of bands including All Time Low, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, and The Rocket Summer. The lines were wrapped around the building for the show. We hit the lines and start talking to kids who were waiting in line. The kids were amazing and really nice. They were so receptive which is always fun. We also met our friend Marita. She’s been awesome to us and it was rad to finally meet her.

So once we are in the venue our homeboy Chris TMV introduces me to this dude named Garret. Garret plays for a band called The Maine. They are such nice guys and we chatted it up with them for a long time until...something incredible happened. I saw a gentleman walking around in shades and a green shirt and normally I wouldn’t have paid attention but I saw him walk around. I followed him and then stopped him for a second. My guess was right. It was Kevin Lyman. The creator of Warped Tour and Taste of Chaos. He is responsible for making your summers awesome. I talked to him and he took our business card. He was cool, and invited me to check out this all girl Japanese skaband. Who were fucking amazing. Oreskaband. Go check them shits out. Here are some pics. We’ll post part two of the night later.
