Hello Boys and Girls…

By The Starting Line on 11.13.07 @ 11:58AM
We’re in lovely San Fran today…the bus is parked on what we like to refer to as “crackhead alley”. We’ve seen tons of people smoking crack and actually saw a female crackhead poop right by our bus door. None of us have stepped in it yet, but the day is young. Here’s a hot pic of a crack deal going on across the street from our bus. Boys and Girls, don’t smoke crack. It will make your teeth fall out. It was also make you a total weirdo.

We spent the past 3 days in Las Vegas, I gave the casino 250 of my hard earned dollars, which was annoying…but they gotta stay in business, and I feel good about helping them out. Matty G and Danny both walked away with over 2 grand, which means they’ll be buying me lots of drinks for the rest of tour.

We also played in Minneapolis the other night, in which the venue turned into a country dance club after the show. This shit was amazing. I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to a country dance club again, but it was fun while it lasted.

Our friend, Renee Clark took some really cool pics of us in Utica, NY. We look like a real rock and roll band, please check them out here.

Also, I’m sure many of you know that our video for Island premiered on TRL last week…and I wanted to thank everyone who showed their support for us and the video. We all read ap.net a few times a day and there were only positive comments and that means the world to us. I’m not sure if the video will make the countdown or what will happen, but for all of you to have our backs is a wonderful feeling.

Here’s my playlist for the week:

The Hold Steady – boys and girls in America
Silverchair – young modern
Saves the Day – under the boards

Holla!

Photoblog 2 coming at you…

We’ve been on the road for a week now with Paramore, and it’s been really intense. I have a chest cold, which is lame…and I feel like everyone else is getting it…but it’s that time of year.

The past few days have been crazy and filled with zero sleep…we played Pontiac, Michigan (in which we had some tech issues, but got to play the drama summer while things were being worked out, so that was pretty rad), after Pontiac, we flew to Houston at 4am and played a Radio show with the Bravery and the Smashing Pumpkins…after the show, we flew to Ohio at 5am and rocked it…the show was one of the most fun shows we’ve played in a long time.

I got 9 hours of sleep last night and finally feel like a normal person again. Woohoo. Here are some pics from the past few days.

From Columbus, OH...this show was fucking insane!

It’s blurry, but still a cool shot with the backdrop…it’s the first time we’ve had a backdrop that we’re all into.

We’ve been doing radio stuff a lot on this tour, usually a car comes and takes away Mike and Kenny, in which they play on air and get asked amazing questions like “How’d you come up with the name The Starting Line?"

This guy was at the Texas radio show we played with The Smashing Pumpkins, someone needs to kick his ass, badly. That shit is disgusting. If you see him and kick his ass, we’ll give you a free t shirt.

The Smashing Pumpkins. They tore it up... I grew up on this band and it was unreal to share the same show with them. Ginger from Halo Friendlies is playing bass for them now, how rad is that?!!!

This is Matt from the Starting Line...

This is my first attempt at a photoblog with RecCenter so hopefully it works out!

We just started on the Fall tour with Paramore and couldn’t be more excited, we’re 2 days into it and the shows have been insane! It’s nice being back in clubs after sweating it out all summer on the Warped tour.

This is where I sleep…there are 12 of us on the bus and 12 of these sweet bunks…it’s a little tight at times but it’s home for the next 6 weeks. The measurements are about 7 ft long by 2ft high.

These classy guys are Florida and Matty G, Florida is our guitar tech, he likes to pick his nose, and Matty G is our drum tech, he’s a bad dude…watch out.

This is our drum tech, Matt Gray, he’s a sick drummer and loves getting wet and wild. He’s hardcore.

For your tech nerds, this what I’m using on the tour, Orange Rockerverb 100w heads, a 4x12 and a 2x12 orange cab…Lucky for me, Florida keeps everything operating in tip top shape.

Here is a photo from our show in Utica.
