The White Tie Affair was born out of the death of two local Chicago bands (A Perfect Gentleman and Made in Hollywood). When Chris Wallace (vox) and Sean-P (guitar) began writing songs in Sean’s home studio in Northwest Indiana, the two founding members both agreed that they wanted to put a fun, party vibe back into the music they were used to making. Having been through personal hardships and dealing with their own band break up, they hoped to achieve a sound that would brighten up their bad days and translate positively to fans. Once they had a solid set of demos together they recruited Ryan Hollywood (keys), Tim M.(drums) and Jeremy Johnson (bass) to fill out the roster and The White Tie Affair was born.
The band is fresh out of the studio in Los Angeles with their finished debut album called Get In Where You Fit In produced by Matt Mahaffey and Jeff Turzo (Hellogoodbye, Pink and Liam & Me) set to be released in early 2008. The album will be filled with infectious hooks strung with guitar riffs and songwriting pizzazz to complete their all out dance party vibe.
To prepare for their debut album release, TWTA have been growing their presence in Chicago over the last couple of months with a string of local shows at The Metro, Beancounters, MoJoe’s Coffee House, The Beat Kitchen and Subterranean. They’ve also been touring nationally their friends The Cab, We The Kings, Medicated Kisses, Quietdrive, Sing It Loud, Sound The Alarm, and Say No More since the early Summer.
“When we hit the stage, all any of us really want to do is watch people have fun at our shows, watch good bands, and make new friends,†adds Sean-P.
Look out for their debut in early 2008 with sure to be hits like “Allow Me To Introduce Myself…Mr.Right†and “The Letdown.â€
