Reviews of "The Resolution"
Absolutepunk.net: 86%

"...Not many bands write a concept album for their debut, but Thin Dark Line has done this, and has done it well. “The Resolution” has many high points, and very few low points. I was not expecting much from this album, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised with Thin Dark Line, and this album is one of my favorites this year. With Thin Dark Line, One Eleven Records has added a new element to their already stellar lineup. Big things await this band; so make sure to pick up 'The Resolution,' it’ll be one of the better decisions you make this year..."

"...Track after track this album produces hits. This is an album that the true indie rocker will enjoy. As stated before, Thin Dark Line knows how to put together a great concept album. The Resolution leaves me wondering what their next release will sound like. Until then, this cd will provide the enjoyment that I have been desiring for much time. Just like Tokyo Rose, for me, has brought back good music, Thin Dark Line, has done the same. This is one that I say you really should check out. It's worth your time..."

"One of the great things about Thin Dark Line is that the band presents a whole package. The CD is themed, and I like that. The group's not going for a future VH1 one-hit-wonder special; everyone sat down and put together a whole CD. There's nothing over the top about the packaging, but for those who say the physical CD is dead, I say TDL certainly did not kill it. As for the music, the Rush-style guitars meet Thrice and hammer through the songs like a gentle machine gun. The vocals are layered and harmonized to the max. There are lots of sing-alongs here for those of us who like to spazz out to music in our cars. Vocalist Bryan Barnes authoritatively belts out the yells as well as whispers the soft lines. He mixes it up quite well, and I have yet to be bored by this CD.

BAND HISTORY
Thin Dark Line is an intense five-piece rock band out of Baltimore, Maryland. The band was formed in 2002 by two brothers, Bryan (Vocals) and Mike Barnes (Guitar). Brent Kaminski (Guitar) joined the lineup only a month after the band had begun and the band has been astounding audiences with an exhausting live show ever since.

Thousands of sales of two self-released EPs in the past two years and shows with some of the biggest acts in the indie scene: The Used, Thrice, Finch, Story of the Year, My Chemical Romance, etc... caught the attention of Florida-based label, One Eleven Records (The Spill Canvas, This Day & Age). After months of writing, rehearsing, recording and pre-production, the band set out to record "The Resolution" with producers, Matt Squire (Northstar, Midtown, The Receiving End of Sirens) and Paul Leavitt (Over It, Don't Look Down).

The band recently completed its most successful tour to date: The 2005 One Eleven Records Artist Tour, featuring The Spill Canvas, This Day & Age and Mashlin. On this tour, the band played several sold out shows spanning from Florida up to Connecticut and as far west as Colorado. The band tries to make as many friends as possible while on tour and hopes that their positive energy spreads around the country.

In the past 5 months they have toured with: The Spill Canvas (One Eleven/WMG), This Day & Age (One Eleven/WMG), Valencia (I Surrender), Race The Sun (Rust/Universal), The Smash Up (Warcon), Man Alive (Militia Group), Nural (Hopeless), Transition (Floodgate/WMG), Mashlin (One Eleven/WMG) and Rookie of the Year (One Eleven/WMG) up and down the East Coast and much further west.

Thin Dark Line is one of the hardest-working bands on the scene which is evident by TDL's philosophy as stated by lead singer Bryan Barnes, "Thin Dark Line will not rest until its mark has been made on the indie scene." Their One Eleven Records debut full length, "The Resolution" was released on October 25th, 2005.
