Unuka co-founders Kiirstin Kuhi and Chad Coronato are building a new kind of label. Kiirstin, former lead singer of Ground to Machine, and Chad, music lover and aspiring drummer, know first-hand the music industry's apathy for bands with dedication, passion and creativity who are deemed to be in some way lacking—its insistence that bands must conform to the industry's standard of worthwhile music, regardless of the artists' original vision. Unuka Records does not hold to that. In the future, we will be able to sign bands and give them the push they deserve in the business. Right now, Unuka Records is prepared to do all we can to promote your band in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut area (though we welcome submissions from anywhere in the world). We will take to the streets ourselves—with our Unuka team—to spread the word about your band, not to mention advertise here on myspace and elsewhere on the internet.
